Consumer Tech Media Coverage Broken?
CNET tech reporter Katie Collins tweeted about the current state of Tech PR/journo’s. I think she’s onto something, over the last couple of years the balance is shifting away from a smaller pool of media towards brands. This is unhealthy for everyone involved.I started a Twitter poll on the question to gauge wider opinion.
Forbes Get’s Binance Crypto Backing
Announced today in surprise surprise, Forbes, is the news that the Tech media outlet is receiving $200 investment from crypto leader Binance. Lots of eyebrows raised perhaps but when you think about media, there’s a lot of potential when it comes to micropayments e.g. the Forbes contributor network or NFT type content related to billionaire profiles. Maybe this is not as bizarre as a lot commentators are thinking!
